    Elderly woman injured in ISAF raid
    PAN: An elderly woman was injured when foreign troops raided her house in the northern province of Faryab, officials said on Sunday. The 50-year-old was injured during Saturday’s operation, which was conducted without coordination with local security forces in the Gozar Khwaja Abad village on the outskirts of Maimana, the provincial capital, police chief, Brig.     Man axes wife to death in Badakhshan
    PAN: A man axed his wife to death by chopping off her fingers and toes in the northeastern province of Badakhshan, an official said on Monday. The killer, who managed to flee the area after perpetrating the murder, was arrested late on Sunday and confessed to his crime during preliminary interrogations. Acting police chief, Col.     Afghan roadside bomb “kills 22” in Herat province
    BBC News: At least 22 people have been killed and many wounded when a roadside bomb hit a crowded minibus in the Afghan province of Herat, officials say. Officials said the bus was full and women and children were among the casualties.     Woman commits self-immolation in Jawzjan
    PAN: A 27-year-old woman reportedly committed self-immolation due to a family dispute in northwestern Jawzjan province, an official said on Thursday. The incident took place late on Wednesday night, said Col. Mohammad Jan Abed, the deputy police chief. He linked the suicide attempt to domestic violence.     ISAF kills lady doctor along with two relatives
    PAN: NATO-led troops killed a lady doctor along with two family members in the Syedabad district of central Wardak province, the Ghazni Civil Hospital director alleged on Saturday. Dr. Ismayeel Ibrahimzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that Dr. Aqila Hekmat, in charge of the maternity ward, her 18-year-old son and nephew were killed late on Friday, when ISAF soldiers fired at their vehicle.      Full news...

    IRIN: Authorities are striving to improve health conditions for women in Afghanistan, where maternal mortality and female life expectancy indicators are the worst in the world, says a new report.     PAN: A teenager girl alleged on Sunday she was raped by her neighbour in the northern province of Sar-i-Pul. She was sexually assaulted two days ago in the Qazi Kinti village on the outskirts of Sar-i-Pul, Shakiba told Pajhwok Afghan News. “My mother took my sister to Kabul for treatment and my father also went to work.     Pregnant woman’s body found in Samangan
    PAN: The dead body of a 40-year-old pregnant woman was found in northern Samangan province on Sunday morning, a police official said. The corpse was recovered in the Shahid Andkhoi Aibak neighbourhood, the acting crime branch, Capt. Asadullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News.     Afghan women killed by foreign forces in operation
    AFP: TWO Afghan women were killed in an operation in eastern Afghanistan that also left 17 insurgents dead, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said today.
