    Report Blames Trump Admin for 330% Rise in Afghan Civilian Casualties
    Common Dreams: The Trump administration's 2017 decision to loosen military rules of engagement meant to protect civilians was followed by a sharp increase in civilian deaths, a report released on Monday revealed.The report (pdf), by Neta C.     876 Civilians Killed in Afghanistan in Three Months: Report
    Tolo News: The US Special Inspector for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) in a new report quoting the Resolute Support says 876 civilians were killed and 1,685 were wounded this from July 1 to September 30, 2020.     Afghanistan vehicle bomb kills former TV presenter
    The Guardian: A bomb attached to the vehicle of a former presenter on Afghanistan’s Tolo TV has exploded, killing the journalist and two other civilians, Kabul police have said.     Attack on Kabul University by ISIS gunmen leaves 22 dead
    The Guardian: At least 22 people were killed and 22 wounded after Islamic State-affiliated gunmen stormed Kabul University as it was hosting a book fair attended by Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan, taking hostages and fighting gun battles with security forces for more than five hours.     Deadly Explosion Hits Kabul Tutoring Center
    The New York Times: KABUL, Afghanistan — A deadly explosion struck a tutoring center in Kabul on Saturday, puncturing a relatively peaceful period in the Afghan capital even as violence has spiraled upward in the countryside. Tariq Arian, a spokesman for the Afghan interior ministry, said at least 24 people were killed and 57 others wounded in the attack.     Afghan Watchdog: Average Of 16 Civilians Killed, Wounded Every Day In Past Six Months
    Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty: The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) says that on average 16 civilians have been killed or wounded every day across the country in the first half of 2020. A total of 1,213 civilians have been killed and 1,744 others wounded in 880 separate security incidents during the first six months of the year, according to the AIHRC’s report on civilian casualties published on July 14.     Afghan car blaze deaths prompt fury over mistreatment of refugees in Iran
    The Guardian: Tens of thousands of Afghans have protested on social media against the mistreatment of the refugees. Dozens more have protested on the streets in Kabul and in eastern Nangarhar province, with more demonstrations planned for major cities like London, Washington DC and Toronto in mid-June.     Babies among 16 killed as gunmen attack maternity ward in Kabul
    Al-Jazeera: Gunmen stormed a maternity hospital in the western part of the Afghan capital Kabul, setting off an hours-long shootout with the police and killing 16 people, including two newborn babies, their mothers and an unspecified number of nurses.     UN documents 533 civilian casualties in Afghanistan
    Anadolu Agency: Amid growing calls for a cease-fire, the UN mission in Afghanistan on Monday revealed that raging violence in the war-torn country has killed 533 civilians including over 150 children, in the first quarter of 2020.     IANS: Four Afghan civilians were killed when a vehicle they were travelling in hit a roadside bomb in eastern Ghazni province, provincial government spokesman confirmed on Wednesday. “The incident occurred in Peerka locality of Khogyani district on Tuesday night.     Taliban kill five central bank workers in western Afghanistan
