Afghan girl gang raped in eastern Ghazni province

She said the health condition of the girl is critical and has been sent to capital Kabul for treatment purposes

According to reports a young Afghan girl was gang raped by a group of men in Moqor district.

A member of the provincial council Hamida Gulistani confirming the report said the incident took place in Lalam Qala around two days back.

Gulistani said government officials in Moqor district tried to hide the incident however she was informed of the incident by security sources.

She said the health condition of the girl is critical and has been sent to capital Kabul for treatment purposes.

However local government officials in Moqor district have not confirmed the report yet but Hamid Gulistan says at least four men entered the house of the girl and raped her.

This comes violence against women has cosiderably increased across recently which has sparked concerns among the women rights activists.

In the meantime members of the public uprising group against the Taliban group said they have arrested a suspected man in connection to the gang rape.

The arrested man was recognized as Janat Gul son of Abdul Raza and Afghan police forces have launched negotiations with the group members to hand over the arrested man to security forces.

Moqor district police chief said they have not received complains from the family of the girl so far.
