Pakistani troops fire 862 rockets into Kunar

During the last six days, Pakistani army troops have fired around 862 missiles into eastern Kunar province, inflicting heavy financial loses, local officials said on Saturday.

Police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Hasib Sayedkhel, said 71 more missiles had been fired into Dangam and Shigal districts of the province since Friday afternoon.

The rockets hit Loya Goriga, Wara Goriga, Dandisar and Bravol Syan localities of Dangam as well as Suno and Chogam areas of Shigal districts, he added.

In addition, he said the Pakistani rocket attacks so far left one person dead and 27 others wounded. Nineteen houses and crops had been destroyed, he said, adding around 350 families were displaced by the cross border shelling.
