Afghans protest execution of 13 teenagers in Iran

He said deceased individuals were all teenager Afghan boys and had gone to Iran for work purposes and were not drug smugglers

According to reports Iran has executed at least 13 Afghan nationals around two months ago.

A number of the close relatives of the victims who gathered near provincial government compound urged the government officials to transfer the dead bodies of the victims from Iran to Afghanistan.

Gul Khan speaking on behalf of the victims families said the individuals belonged to Kohsan districts and were bured in a cemetery in Tibar after they were killed by Iranian security forces two months back.

He said deceased individuals were all teenager Afghan boys and had gone to Iran for work purposes and were not drug smugglers. Mr. Khan also urged the government and International organizations to try those involved behind the killing of the 13 Afghan boys.

He also criticized the government and the Afghan parliament and said, “If President Karzai does not support the Afghan nation then he should distribute the country to the neighboring in order to prevent the killing of the innocent Afghans. It was our mistake to vote for Karzai and Afghan lawmakers.”

He also warned the Afghan government that they will commit suicide bomb attack if the government does not consider their demands.

In the meantime a number of the other close relatives of the victims said several statements from the foreign ministry, provincial governor and provincial council have been sent to Iran in order to send the dead bodies of the victims but the Iranian Council has repeatedly denied their request.

They warned to torch the Iranian Council and prevent Iranian citizens entry in Afghanistan if their demands were not fulfilled.

Provincial governor spokesman Mohiuddin Noori said they will share the issue with the Iranian government in order to pave the way for the legal transfer of the dead bodies from Iran to Afghanistan.
