Man stabs spouse, child to death

A man stabbed his mother-in-law, spouse and a child to death and injured two other relatives in the Guzra district of western Herat province, an official said on Wednesday.

The triple murder case took place in the Khatamul Anbia area of the district on Tuesday afternoon, the administrative head of Guzra, Nisar Ahmad Popal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He added the man wounded three of his brothers-in-law, between 4 and 7 years, who were evacuated to a zonal hospital. The killer was arrested by police with cooperation from residents from the Imam Shash Noor village of the district on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the zonal hospital, Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, confirmed receiving the bodies of two women and three injured children. He said one of the injured children succumbed to his wounds at hospital.
