Taliban kill boy on spy charges in Paktika

He said the slain boy had no connection with the government

The Taliban have executed an 18-year-old boy on the accusation of spying for the government in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Saturday.

The victim identified as Sher Khan, was killed by the insurgent a day earlier in the Mohammad Khel village near the provincial capital, Sharan, the governor's spokesman, Mukhlis Afghan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the slain boy had no connection with the government.

A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, said they heard gunshots and found the boy's body on Friday evening.

He said after the incident, gunmen on motorcycles were seen leaving the scene.
