Rape victim’s family demands justice

Uncle of the victim, Noor Agha said that if the government did not punish the abuser, they will be forced to violate the law.

The family of a 10 year old child who was sexually abused by his neighbor in Sarobi district of Kabul province demanded justice from the government.

A family member of the victim who wanted to remain unanimous told Pajhwok Afghan News on Wednesday that the incident took place two days back.

He said Perviz, 10 was molested by a son of former Jehadi commander Muhammad Dad, 22.

Allegations of land grabs, rape, murder and kidnapping are rife. Afghan journalists covering their crimes have been harassed by police or thrown in jail.

He said: "Parviz, a mentally retard child was playing outside the house and son of Muhammad Dad took him to an empty yard and molested him"He added Parviz father was imprisoned in Pul-i-Charkhi jail and the family did not have any supporter.

He said that the abuser escaped but his father was arrested by police in Sarobi district.The Pajhwok reporter was unable to talk with Muhammad Dad.

Uncle of the victim, Noor Agha said that if the government did not punish the abuser, they will be forced to violate the law.

Noor Agha said: "If the government wants that there should not be more disputes, then the culprits should be severely punished, otherwise it is Pashtuns country," he warned.

The forensic officials said that according to the law the result of such investigations are not revealed to media, but a doctor in Sarobi province accepted that Parviz was molested.

The doctor with the condition of anonymity told Pajhwok Afghan News that Parviz was transferred to hospital by police two days back at late night.He added: "the primary check up showed that Parviz was molested"

Police in Sarobi said they will not reveal details about the incident until investigations were not completed, however they accepted that the victim family has registered complaint.
