Husband decapitate wife in Juzjan province of Afghanistan

Samimi said poverty, illiteracy, domestic violence and forced marriages are the causes of such murders and asked that the doers should be punished.

SHABARGHAN: A Husband decapitated his wife and a police officer was detained in a case of embezzling 1.4 million afghanis in northern Jozjan province.

Colonel Syed Abbas Sadat, crime branch chief of Jozjan police told Pajhwok Afghan News that Abdul Razaq, 22, killed his 18 years old wife with knife in Khawja Do Koh district on Sunday night.

Sadat said that the husband decapitated his wife and had also stabbed in her body including chest and abdomen.

He said that the marriage lasted eight months and it was exchange marriage.

He added that Abdul Razaq has been detained and investigations have begun and the motive of the murder is not yet clear.

Miss Maghferat Samimi of Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) in Jozjan considered the murder an issue of concern and said that at the beginning of the year they were face with such brutal incident which should be condemned.

Samimi said poverty, illiteracy, domestic violence and forced marriages are the causes of such murders and asked that the doers should be punished.

A month back a son killed his mother in Darzab district of Jozjan province and then made his way, and the motive behind the murder is still not clear.

In another report a police officer was detained in connection of embezzlement.

Brig. General Muhammad Khalil Aminzada, Jozjan police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News that a police officer had embezzled 1.4 million afghanis in last four years.
