Doctors of the central hospital of Uruzgan say that ISAF forces, without permission, shot photos of the female patients in the hospital and distributed expired medicines and biscuits.
In reaction to these actions on November 26, the doctors of the central hospital went on a strike from treating the patients.
Amir Ahmad, the head physician, told PAN that ISAF forces came to the hospital without permission went to the female section and took their photos.
He added that taking women’s photos are again the Afghani customs and culture.
These photos are then published in newspapers and magazines and create problems for these women.
Dr. Amir Ahmad said, “Here women work under difficult conditions and if such occurrences take place again, they will resign from their jobs.”
Bahadur Khan one of the other doctors of the hospital said that the ISAF forces in addition to snapping picture of the women distributed expired medicines and biscuits to the patients and children.
According to the mentioned, instead of helping the patients so that their illnesses are treated, the ISAF forces increase their sickness with the expired medicines.
On the other hand, due to the strike of the doctors of the central hospital of Uruzgan, the patients who have come to this hospital are faced with problems.
Mohammad Allah, one of the residents of the city of Traincot who has brought his son to the hospital, asked the doctors to end their strike.
He told PAN, “My son has severe pneumonia. His life is at risk if he is not treated immediately by doctors.”
Dr. Mirwais, advisor of the governor of Uruzgan in health affairs, confirmed the incident true and said that they are trying to convince the doctors to end their strike.
Dr. Faizullah Kakar, deputy of the Ministry of Public Health told PAN that they have no information about the matter until now.
