ISAF convoy kills minor girl in Balkh

It was not first time in Afghanistan where the international security assistance forces engaged in tragic road accidents.

MAZAR-E-SHARIF (PAN): Convoy of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) run over a ten-years-old girl in northern Afghanistan.

Shir Durrani spokesman of the police headquarters in Balkh province told Pajhwok Afghan News the road accident in Takhta-Pul area occurred at around 12 noon on Sunday.

The minor girl received injuries in the mishap but succumbed to her injuries later in the hospital, he worried.

The dead body of the girl was handed over to her family, he added.

Brig. Gen Sardar Muhammad Sultani police chief of the province said the girl was hit by British soldiers' vehicle, he blamed foreign forces for high speed which he said caused the accident.

Passports of the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) soldiers involved in the road mishap were handed to PRT base here for interrogation, he added.
