Zahida Ansari, Afghanistan’s Former Ambassador to Bulgaria Wanted

Some Afghan media suggested earlier that she might have departed for an unknown country.

The Afghan authorities and Afghanistan's Embassy in Bulgaria are searching for their former ambassador to Sofia who has not come back to her home country after her term of office expired.

The Speaker of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sultan Ahmad Bahin told the Bulgarian National Radio that Ambassador Zahida Ansari was supposed to go back to the Afghan capital of Kabul to continue her work within the Ministry structures. Ansari, however, has not arrived to Kabul, and there is no information where she is currently. Some Afghan media suggested earlier that she might have departed for an unknown country. The Foreign Ministry speaker has declined to comment on this hypothesis.
