ISLAMABAD (NNI): Taliban have banned all sports played between late afternoon and evening to avoid disturbance prayers, Taliban-controlled radio Shariat has reported.

Games at playgrounds from Asar and Maghreb could disturb prayers, said the Taliban mouthpiece.

Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar had ordered that no sports should be held from the time of the muezzin's call for Asar prayers until the end of Maghreb prayers.

Taliban, who controls about 95 percent of the war-torn country, has already banned music and television, barred women from schools.
