RAWA in drought-stricken villages of Herat


No school or play for these children. Their lives now revolve around the critical daily chore of fetching water from far off places. They subsist on daily handfuls of rice and it is months since they last tasted pulses, fruits or vegetables. Child mortality due to malnutrition and the lack of medical care is soaring. Mobile RAWA medical teams with their pitiful resources are powerless in the face of sheer demand.
