Afghanistan Biggest Producer, distributor of hard drugs: UN

ISLAMABAD: The United Nations Agency which monitors drug production and trading all over the Globe, says Afghanistan is the world's biggest producer and distributor of hard drugs, but the Taliban authorities and Afghanistan's oppositions are said to be involved in passing drugs to Colombia and Myanmar, reports Radio Netherlands.

It is estimated that around 46000 tons of opium were produced last year in Afghanistan. This is double the previous year's figure. UN Agency says the increase is down to an almost complete absence of international supervision.
