DAWN, September 18, 2000: Afghan beggars, mostly children, have become a nuisance for motorists and goers of public places and parks in Peshawar.
Afghan children of different age groups and young and old drug addicts can be seen seeking alms at parks, bus stops, railway station, hospitals, shopping malls and bazaars without any check by the government department responsible for stopping the practice.
Groups of child beggars throng vehicles, especially cars and motorcycles, sometimes forcing motorists to apply emergency brakes to save the kids.
