KABUL (Internews) - Imposing new restrictions on foreign journalists, the Afghan government has asked them to abstain from using the word “Taliban” to refer to them and to call them the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan instead. Journalists were also asked to contact only Afghanistan’s information agencies for data on other Afghan groups, and that foreign journalists did not have the right to interview women, take their pictures or to enter peoples’ abodes without the authorities’ permission for this.
